How many people will be at these events?

It will vary by event but the first two trips had 33 and 43 people. Interest really has been growing so our third trip will have 80 attendees! We expect the trips going forward to have 100+ but may divide it into two weekends - TBD.

Will there be any cosplay at this event?

YES! On the last night people are encouraged, but not required, to come dressed up as a character from a Nancy Drew book or game.

What is the age range of attendees?

The majority of people who have attended are between 26-35 years old. Anyone over 18 can attend and we have had people in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s attend. As long as you are over 18 you are the perfect age to join us!

Does everyone know each other already? Will it be awkward if I come by myself and don't know anyone?

You definitely can come by yourself and you'll make new friends really quickly! For our first trip we had 33 people who mostly came as individuals. There were a few people who came with a friend, or partner but mostly no one had met yet. For our second trip we had 19 repeat people and 24 new people it was their first time attending an event. Some of the new people came with someone but a lot came on their own as well. It is a very friendly group so you'll fit right in. :)

Will there be dietary accommodations?

You can indicate major dietary needs (not preferences) and allergies on your registration form and we will do our best to accommodate.

What should I expect the trip to be like?

These trips have multiple days and each day there are themed activities scheduled. The first day we always have a gathering to meet everyone and get to know each other. There is also free time built into the schedule to rest or explore the area if you want to! Each event is different so be sure to look at the lists of activities to see which trips sounds like the most fun to you!

Do you ever have special guests at your events?

YES! For our Washington Trip we invited Scott Carty (VA for Ned) and he graciously accepted! He will be doing a live Q&A on the last day of our trip. This is a one time thing and we don't anticipate having special guests at future trips. We are super excited to meet Scott in person!

Does each trip cost the same to attend?

Each trip has a different registration cost depending on a lot of factors (locations, type of activities, number of meals included etc.) There is an early bird discount for each trip so keep an eye out for those specific dates.

I sell merch, can I be a vendor at one of your events?

Yes! During the cosplay dinner on the last day on the closing day of the events we have an opportunity for people to sell their merch. For more details and to sign up to be a vendor please read full details HERE.

​​Who can attend these events?

Our trip are open to ANY Nancy fans age 18 and up. We're not an exclusive club, just people with a common love for Nancy. We've had couples, friends, individuals, siblings, and two sisters came with their mom. We've also had people who came with their partners who haven't played much Nancy Drew at all and they still really enjoyed themselves. You don't have to be a big fan to attend but you'll definitely pick up on more "Easter egg" stuff if you have played all the games.

What is your refund policy?

The registration fee you pay is not refundable in part or in full under any circumstances including if you are unable to attend entirely or are late for a specific event and so unable to participate (ie the whale watching tour has to leave without you if you are late). The only reason the hosts will refund the money is if the entire event has to be canceled due to circumstances outside our control.

 

When is registration payment due?

You will be sent a payment request from PayPal within 24 hours of registering for a trip. Your payment is due on receipt. Your place is not guaranteed until you have completed payment.

​​​​​What are the lodging and transportation details? 

You are responsible for booking your own lodging. There is a list of suggested hotels for each trip but you may stay anywhere you wish in the area. You are also responsible for your own transportation but can indicate on your registration form if you would like to carpool with other attendees. The hosts can put people in contact with each other but specifics are not coordinated by the hosts.

Should I replay the game or read the book before the event?

Yes! Definitely would recommend that but isn't required.
